Against a backdrop of growing environmental concerns, the maritime sector is evolving to meet new challenges. Anemos, an 81-meter cargo sailboat designed by TOWT (TransOceanic Wind Transport), is a concrete example. This vessel uses wind propulsion, an innovative solution that reduces the carbon footprint of maritime transport while maintaining optimum efficiency.

TECHNICAL OPTIMIZATION FOR MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE

Pixel sur Mer contributed its expertise in onboard systems to improve the technical performance and reliability of the Anemos. As a first step, we carried out an in-depth audit of the load cells, enabling us to measure the forces exerted on the rig, a crucial factor in the ship's safety. Following this audit, a complete rewiring of the original systems was carried out to ensure optimal operation of the equipment on board. This is essential, as this data enables the automation of sail furling and unfurling sequences. Smooth execution of these maneuvers significantly extends the lifespan of rigging materials.

EXOCET BLUE AND EXOCET CLOUD: OPTIMIZED DATA MANAGEMENT

Real-time data management is essential for a vessel like the Anemos.

With this in mind, Pixel sur Mer installed EXOCET Blue on board. EXOCET Blue enables continuous monitoring of critical navigation and performance data. With its dedicated interface, the crew can adjust the ship's parameters in real time to optimize the trajectory and maximize the sailboat's efficiency, ensuring reactive and optimal management.

At the same time, the EXOCET Cloud system, soon to be deployed on the Anemos, will centralize all data collected on board, enabling remote teams to consult this information via customized dashboards. This system will facilitate the sharing of data in real or delayed time, offering a complete view of the ship's performance and supporting informed decision-making to improve the sailing cargo ship's operations.

THE ARTÉMIS: A NEW MILESTONE FOR TOWT AND PIXEL SUR MER

TOWT's second cargo sailboat, the Artémis, will also benefit from Pixel sur Mer's expertise, and will soon receive the same optimizations as the Anemos: audit of load cells, rewiring of systems and installation of EXOCET Blue and EXOCET Cloud solutions. Once again, these improvements will optimize the safety and efficiency of the Artemis, while helping to reduce its ecological footprint.

PIXEL SUR MER: A KEY PLAYER IN THE MARITIME ENERGY TRANSITION

By working with TOWT, we have the opportunity to contribute to the transition towards more sustainable, efficient and environmentally-friendly ships. Through technical optimization and the integration of advanced technologies, we are proud to accompany this transformation of the maritime sector, fostering the emergence of a more responsible form of transport that is more respectful of global environmental issues.
